Relationships can be messy. Anyone who’s been in one for more than a few months knows arguments eventually rear their ugly head, and the euphoria and sweetness that accompanied those first blissful months begins to fade. Yet the challenges that accompany long relationships are not without their rewards of personal growth and a stronger, more intimate bond with your partner. Of course, the success of a long-term relationship is never guaranteed. While there are a million reasons why relationships end, sometimes it’s a result of one or both persons not taking responsibility for their thoughts and actions - each partner blames the other for their shortcomings. This is where my story comes in. My untold storyI returned to meditation because of a personal crisis. It involved many aspects of my life, but most prominently it involved my girlfriend who I followed overseas and had been with for 2+ years. While the full story was in an early draft of An Ordinary Dude’s Guide to Meditation, I edited it out at the last minute as I was struggling to make it fit with the rest of the book’s content. Where you can read the full storyA few months back I reedited this story and got it published on a personal development blog – The Change Blog. You can read the full story HERE.
The story is incredibly personal and shares the nitty gritty details of how meditation helped broaden my perspective and pinpoint the problems occurring in my relationship and life. It walks you through how meditation changed the way I look at the world. I hope you like it.
